SEM and Paid Social Media Specialist

As an SEM and paid social media specialist at Garrison Hughes, you will be part of an exciting agency and a fun group of people who take their work seriously. You will lead the day-to-day SEM and paid social activities on assigned clients, as well as be involved in strategic and insightful integrated plan development.

In this role, you will report to our Media Director and share in departmental responsibilities, including:


  • Developing and executing SEM campaigns within Google and Bing
  • Manage and optimize paid search campaigns, including bid optimization, ad extensions, analyzing search query reports, and creating ad copy
  • Effectively manages budgets throughout the month via pacing and spend reporting
  • Collaborates closely with the agency team on research, campaign creation, and optimization efforts
  • Ensures proper tracking and attribution
  • Monitor and report performance of campaigns, along with recommendations for improvements
  • Translates strategic recommendations concerning digital experiences into actionable items
  • Assist as a paid search subject matter expert on client calls when needed
  • Specialist of all paid social campaign strategy, execution, management, and optimization  
  • Create, optimize and manage Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other 3rd party ad platform advertising campaigns
  • Build target audience estimates and create ads within each platform
  • Setup conversion tracking for Google Analytics 
  • Analyze advertising campaign and website data to identify opportunities to improve KPIs
  • Lead meetings with internal teams to go over reports, manage feedback, and explain strategies
  • Develop campaign reporting on a weekly & monthly basis as needed with included optimization recommendations
  • Maintain an understanding of fundamental digital marketing metrics and how they interact and influence one another

Besides requiring a person with boundless enthusiasm and passion for SEM and social media, we also want a specialist with a 4-year degree, 2-4 years of experience, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with other forms of digital media is a plus. Google Analytics and Facebook Blueprint certifications are a plus.
