Digital Marketing Specialist II

Garrison Hughes is looking for a full time Digital Marketing Specialist II. As a Digital Marketing Specialist II, you will have the opportunity to manage the planning, development, launch, and evaluation of digital promotional and marketing programs to increase qualified site visits and conversions on UPMC.com and social media channels, with the goal of helping increase patient volume. 

Requirements

  • Manage digital projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication, collaborating with internal stakeholders, physicians, administrators, and marketing and communications teams. 
  • Keep senior management apprised of status and accomplishments. 
  • Lead efforts to direct targeted users from other websites to upmc.com through a combination of search engine optimization programs, including organic and pay-per-click programs, as well as development, maintenance, and monitoring of UPMC’s presence on other websites, weblogs, discussion forums, and other web outlets.
  • Creates, posts, manages, and monitors all social media communications for UPMC in Central Pa.
  • Manage the development of system-wide digital-based marketing campaigns as stand-alone efforts and/or in integration with existing clinical content on upmc.com. 
  • Ensure that content and design is consistent, understandable, accessible, and consistent with UPMC brand standards. 
  • Prepare and monitor project timelines for assigned projects, which include a detailed description of major work segments, tasks to be completed, estimated start and completion dates, and assignment of resources/responsibilities. 
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and trends.

Educational/Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in marketing, communications, business, or information technology required. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a marketing communications position or related field.
  • Social media experience required. 
  • Social media experience in professional setting strongly preferred. 
  • Working, current knowledge of web- and social media-based concepts, tools, and techniques such as search engine optimization, usability, navigation, QA testing, content development and metrics/reporting systems.

A requirement of this position is to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week and be willing to travel if/when necessary to other regional hospital locations or Pittsburgh for occasional team meetings. The office is located at 409 S. Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17105 or 700 High Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 depending on an applicant’s location.
