Digital Marketing Lead Specialist

Garrison Hughes is looking for a full-time Digital Marketing Lead Specialist to support international digital marketing for UPMC. As a Digital Marketing Lead Specialist, you will have the opportunity to manage the planning, development, launch, and evaluation of web-based materials on international websites, upmc.com, and affiliated sites. You will also partner with our Strategy and International Marketing teams to develop campaigns, and marketing programs to increase qualified site visits and conversions on upmc.com, with the goal of helping to increase patient volume.

Your responsibilities could include the following:

  • Managing web projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication, collaborating with departmental communications managers, physicians, administrators, web architects and programmers, and designers.
  • Working with Marketing to help the development of system-wide web-based marketing campaigns as stand-alone efforts and/or in integration with existing clinical content on a variety of websites.
  • Serve as digital marketing communications liaison to our marketing team, providing consultation and strategic communications planning where appropriate.
  • Work closely with directors/senior managers/managers to develop digital marketing strategies and plans for clinical marketing tactics to grow volume, raise brand awareness, and more.
  • Provide guidance to communications digital marketing specialists and summer associates on marketing projects and processes.
  • Manage projects of increased complexity, sensitivity, or importance to the organization.
  • Manage and assist in establishing and overseeing strategy for web projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication, collaborating with departmental communications managers, physicians, administrators, web architects and programmers, and designers.
  • Preparing and monitoring project timelines for assigned projects, which include a detailed description of major work segments, tasks to be completed, estimated start and completion dates, and assignment of resources/responsibilities.
  • Analyzing and interpreting web metrics to determine the effectiveness of web-based programs and establish system-wide standards.
  • Analyzing and interpreting social media metrics to determine the effectiveness of social media channels and campaigns to make strategic recommendations, providing social media reporting and insights
  • Extract learnings to determine best practices and extend best practices across the system.
  • Assist in working as a liaison between clients and digital marketing support services including web strategy, email, social media, applications/development, SEO/PPC, and analytics teams.
  • Oversee the completion of projects across site builds, online advertising, social media, maximizing online sales opportunities, and search marketing.
  • Assist with hands-on design (HTML) for projects as needed.
  • Standard Responsibilities: Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Educational/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in marketing, communications, business, or information technology preferred.
  • 5 years experience in marketing communications, web-based program management, design, development, or related field required.
  • Working, current knowledge of web and social media-based concepts, tools, and techniques such as search engine optimization, social media platforms, and reporting, usability, navigation, QA testing, content development and metrics/reporting systems.
  • Experience working with interactive agencies preferred.
  • Experience with customer service and account management
  • Experience in website management/basic HTML/content management systems
  • Previous experience with site maps, wireframes, web CMS, SEO, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of web- and social media-based concepts, tools, and techniques such as search engine optimization, usability, navigation, QA testing, content development and metrics/reporting systems.
  • General understanding of automated marketing technology platforms
  • Understanding of the application of analytics to make marketing decisions
  • Understanding of social media platforms to make strategic marketing decisions
