Media Planner/Buyer

As a media planner/buyer at Garrison Hughes you will be part of an exciting agency and a fun group of people who take their work seriously.   • Planning and implementing media strategies across digital, traditional and social platforms
  • Collaborating with strategy, account and creative teams
  • Working with media team on development, negotiation, implementation, tracking, and optimization of media campaigns
  • Developing and presenting POVs and media analyses to agency team and clients
  • Meeting with media representatives to learn various media types and vendors
  • Becoming familiar with online ad serving software
  • Tracking media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance

Besides requiring a person with boundless enthusiasm and passion for all things media-related, we also want a media planner with a 4-year degree and 1-3 years of experience and excellent project management skills. Experience with SEM a plus.

Garrison Hughes is looking for a full-time Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. You will have the opportunity to assist our Controller with various duties and help establish process within the agency.

Assistant Brand Strategist

As an Assistant Brand Planner at Garrison Hughes, you will be part of an exciting agency and a fun group of people who take their work seriously. You will have the opportunity to assist the research and strategy team in leading market research studies, writing creative briefs, tracking consumer trends, developing insights and gathering relevant consumer information for our clients. In this role, you will report to our Senior Brand Strategist. Among the many skills and talents we know you will bring to our company, there are several that we consider to be "must-haves". You will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in market research, brand strategy or marketing
  • Ability to analyze different data and draw conclusions
  • Experience writing (or helping to write) creative briefs, research reports or other communications documents

Communications Manager

Garrison Hughes is looking for a professional who will work exclusively with our client, UPMC, at the Hillman Cancer Center. Under direction of a clinical marketing manager, you will strategize, develop, and implement communication projects to educate and inform physicians, patients, and other audiences about UPMC Hillman Cancer Center research. You will also direct communication strategies for internal and external audiences in assigned areas.

An ideal candidate will have experience with scientific/medical writing as well as project management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a communications manager for UPMC Hillman Cancer Center research clients – managing the research, writing, design, and production of printed materials, website, and digital projects.
  • Developing and implementing targeted communication strategies to support the organization’s research and development objectives.
  • Implementing communication plans for programs and managing multifaceted projects including both digital and web.
  • Preparing effective strategies to achieve communication goals.
  • Developing methods to evaluate communications projects based on effectiveness and cost-benefits and documenting results.
  • Monitoring project budgets – obtaining approvals, managing additonal client relations functions, and assuming responsibility for the accuracy and effectiveness of information communicated.
  • Coordinating with pertinent scientific and professional organizations to promote assigned areas.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in other departments.
  • Editing and/or writing copy for publications, letters, advertisements, audio/visual presentations, speeches, and additional communication programs.

Educational/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in writing and project management
  • Experience in providing clients with strategic marketing counsel.
  • Agency experience a plus.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, hospital, or health care industry or related health care industry.
  • Medical or science writing experience.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate scientific/medical information to lay persons.
